Web Usage

The percentage of people that booked on the trip that accessed the web site was 73.5%.

The percentage of people that booked on line was 50%.

The number of people that answered Yes to the question “did the web site give a good reflection of the holiday” was 89%.

About the web-site itself (with my comments below):

"Need new photos, not same old people".

Well, I put on all of the good photos that I get sent, so if your friends aren’t on the website, then you didn’t send me your photos!

"Found navigation a bit circituitous. Could be 'flatter', but also glad it uses basic HTML".

Fair comment. I’ll look into different structures for the site. I am keen to maximise the number of people that can easily use the site and that means avoiding to many flashy gimmicks that break some web browsers.

"More photos of hotels and pistes please".

Good point. As this was my first time at Val, I didn’t have any pictures before we went, but I should have tried to get photos from other people.

"Links to weather reports and Val D'Isere web site".

Great idea. I’ll try and do that next year.

It worked OK on the six different systems I tested it on ... did many of you have a problem with printing the booking form etc?

Human error. I think I remember the incident, and resent the form to the booking company ...

Good call. Will add a section on that kind of thing.

"I had trouble booking on line, the button that was meant to be there to confirm was not there".

This person was very keen! The button didn’t work for the first few days that the form was on the site, and the instructions said so, requesting that people print & fax the form. Please let me know straight away if you do have any problems.

I’ll check that next year.

"It would be nice if there were more pictures on line at an one time, I guess you are constrained by web host size".

We pay for enough space on the server, but I didn’t want to put too many pictures on any one page, so that each page would load relatively quickly (given all the photos). As I said earlier - send me you photos if you want more pictures on the site.
